Professional Combatives Certification
The Group Leader Certification (GLC) is a special opportunity for people interested in learning and developing an understanding of Real World Command and Control Combatives. Our courses focus on integrating practical close quarter combat training programs with academic study courses. The Combative Options GLC is the finest English language certification program recognizing high-level achievement in armed and unarmed combatives derived from the Ottoman Military and Malay Silat traditions.
There is no way to leave a GLC Training Program without High Quality Education leaving with you.
Program Study Options:
Distance Education
Target: Skilled students or Instructors in other systems interested in learning functional Silat Combatives which can be easily implemented into their current training curriculum.
Students enrolled in the DE program will be assigned an Instructor to work with and must submit their written course work to the Instructor directly via email. Combative training courses learned via video lessons must be recorded in video format (cd/dvd in NTSC) and submitted to the Instructor for grading. Private yahoo messenger, skype, or phone conversations can be arranged as well. We strongly encourage all DE students to try and arrange a seminar in their area or visit us for a residency training program.
Computer Requirements
P1 or higher with 56K modem and windows media player installed. One current version of Yahoo messenger or skype for conferencing with Instructor.
Seminar Training
Target: Anyone interested in functional Real World Silat Combatives.
Students wishing to do their GLC in seminar format can sponsor a seminar at their location and complete their certification in their country of residence. Seminar curriculums are very flexible and can be customized according to the needs of the sponsor and class.
Residency Training
Target: People interested in a Total Silat Education with full immersion into the armed and unarmed aspects of the art.
Students wishing to do a residency can apprentice with Ustaz Hussein in Taiwan, China to complete their certification. Residency is the hardest road to take but also one of the most rewarding and rich experiences a student can have. The Silat Tarab residency program incorporates Armed and Unarmed Combatives, Anatomy and Physiology Studies, Strategy and Tactics for Close Quarter Combatives, Leadership Training, and Teacher Training.
Note: Silat Tarab and Silat Sharaf both have other aspects specific to each curriculum.

Residency Tuition: $2000 USD - 10 day private intensive training course with Ustaz Hussein. Students enrolled in the Distance Education course will have their residency course discounted for the price of the DE package.
Distance Education Tuition: $499 USD - This includes the complete Group Leader study package, personal performance evaluation sheets, and ongoing dedicated support from your Instructor. anyone joining the residency program in the future will have the Distance Learning course tuition deducted from their residency tuition. Seminar Tuition: $400 USD Per Day - Bringing Real World Silat Combatives into your area is not a difficult task if you sponsor a seminar. The physical portion of the GLC can be done in seminar time anywhere you wish. We've run seminars in garages, schools, even parking lots.
